 The City of North Bay invites applications for the position of Landfill Attendant – Environmental (Temporary Part-Time).  Reporting to the Landfill Operations Supervisor, the attendant is responsible for the daily operation, monitoring and environmental compliance of the Merrick Landfill Site.

Qualifications:  

  • Minimum (1) one year diploma in environmental science or related field
  • Six (6) months previous Landfill or equivalent acceptable experience
  • Forklift training certificate
  • Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ License.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office software
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with the public; good communication skills
  • Cash handling experience
  • Sufficient clerical ability to complete daily reports
