  • City Winds Down Sandbag Stations
    North Bay, ON – May 14, 2026 – The City is winding down sandbag filling stations due to decreased demand and stabilizing conditions on Lake Nipissing.
  • Upcoming Work at Wastewater Treatment Plant
    North Bay, ON – May 11, 2026 – The City of North Bay is advising residents that construction activities are beginning this week at the Wastewater Treatment Plant on Memorial Drive.
  • Jane Street Sidewalk Replacement
    North Bay, ON – May 9, 2026 – Beginning Monday, Jane Street between Durrill Street and Bloem Street will be closed during most of the day for approximately one week while Battano Construction completes sidewalk replacement work.

  • Citizen Appointment to Rural Advisory Committee
    The City of North Bay is seeking four representative who reside int he rural areas of the City of North Bay to be part of the The Rural Advisory Committee (the Committee) which will act as an advisory/liaison body between the rural community of North Bay and Council. The Committee is responsible for communicating the unique needs and interests of rural residents and ensures their interests and concerns are considered in municipal decision-making on rural issues. The term runs concurrently with the term of Council.

We encourage open, respectful conversation and welcome a range of perspectives. To help maintain a positive and constructive environment, users are responsible for the content of their comments and must adhere to the following guidelines.

The City may hide or remove comments or limit access to our social media channels if content:
  • Does not related to City programs, services, or initiatives
  • Includes offensive, profane, hateful, defamatory, insulting, rude, abusive, aggressive, or violent language
  • Promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, age, religion, gender, national origin, or other protected grounds
  • Includes sexual content or links to sexual content
  • Is an advertisement, promotion, or spam
  • Supports or opposes any person campaigning for election to a political office
  • Encourages illegal activity or violation of copyright or trademark laws
  • Falsely represents or impersonates any individual or organization, including City staff or officials
  • Are repetitive or duplicated posts
  • Is unintelligible or irrelevant
Users who violate these guidelines may have their comments removed and/or be blocked from City social media channels.
The City reserves the right to disable or limit commenting on posts when necessary, including but not limited to situations where conversations become unproductive, repetitive, or inconsistent with the purpose of the page.
The City of North Bay is not responsible for content posted by users. These terms may be updated at any time.

Media Inquiries

We will respond to media requests during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All requests will be responded to in an appropriate time frame, according to time of receipt.  The City of North Bay only extends after hours service to media request of an urgent, operational nature.  Media requests received outside of business hours will be addressed the next business day. 

All media outlets are asked to notify the City of North Bay before entering City property or before filming, photographing or interviewing City employees.

Please note media requests from accredited media outlets (representatives of a recognized media organization) are given priority.
