Getting Impossibly Close: Caregiving, Connection and the End of Life

What does it mean to truly be present with someone we love as they approach the end of life?

Author Kristin Shepherd will share the story behind Impossibly Close, an intimate memoir documenting the final four years of her mother’s life and the changing relationship between mother and daughter during that time.

The book explores caregiving, loss, vulnerability and the experience of moving from managing another person’s care to simply listening, connecting and being present. Kristin’s presentation will offer a thoughtful look at what she learned about helping, loving and becoming closer through one of life’s most difficult transitions.
