Enjoy free outdoor skating throughout the winter at neighbourhood rinks across North Bay.
The City operates 11 outdoor rinks, weather permitting.
Rinks typically open once there is enough snow to build an ice base, followed by a sustained period of cold temperatures (approximately -10°C or colder). Staff continually monitor weather conditions and begin flooding when conditions allow.

Rink openings and ice conditions depend on the weather and volunteer availability. While staff and volunteers work together to help maintain the ice, all users are encouraged to assist with shoveling the ice.
Outdoor rinks are not supervised by staff. Change rooms and washrooms are not available. Lights automatically turn off at 11 p.m.
Skating is available on a first come, first serve basis. Please be kind and share the rink.
Community volunteers play an important role in keeping North Bay's neighbourhood outdoor rinks operating throughout the winter.
Volunteers help prepare and maintain the ice by flooding and clearing snow, with support and guidance from the City. Depending on the location, they may also be asked to assist with opening and closing rink buildings, managing lighting, and supervising scheduled activities.
Looking for ice time for a team practice or organized activity? Outdoor rink bookings are available at select locations, weather permitting.
