Save the Date! May 24, 2025
The Great Yard Sale & Children’s Market is an inaugural celebration inspired by the Glebe Yard Sale in Ottawa and the Children’s Market in Vondelpark, Amsterdam. Taking place on the first Saturday after the Victoria Day long weekend, this exciting event invites the community to come together for a day of sales, creativity, and connection.
This year, as North Bay celebrates its centennial, the festival offers a special opportunity to revisit old traditions, share stories of the past, and look forward to the next 100 years by nurturing future generations. Through community engagement, sustainable practices, and entrepreneurial spirit, this event pays tribute to the resilience and generosity that have shaped North Bay while fostering a bright future for the city’s youth.
The Great Yard Sale
On May 24th, residents are encouraged to host their own yard sales at home, creating a citywide shopping experience. It’s a great way to declutter, earn extra cash, and promote sustainability by giving pre-loved items a second life. Reusing and repurposing goods not only reduces waste but also strengthens the community by bringing people together, much like North Bay’s early days, when neighbors helped one another and shared resources.
The Children’s Market
Join us at Lee Park on May 24th for a fun-filled family event at the Children’s Market! Celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of North Bay’s youth with unique children’s sales, creative crafts, and interactive games. Kids will not only get a chance to sell their own goods but also to engage in community traditions, create lasting memories, and take their first steps in shaping North Bay’s future.
By blending past traditions with new opportunities, the Great Yard Sale & Children’s Market is more than just an event—it’s a way to honor North Bay’s legacy while fostering a sense of belonging and possibility for the generations to come.
