MANAGER OF FINANCIAL SERVICES (PERMANENT FULL-TIME)

The Corporation of The City of North Bay is accepting applications for the position of Manager of Financial Services. Reporting to the Director of Financial Services, the Manager of Financial Services is responsible for the strategic planning, leading, directing, monitoring and controlling of: Accounting services, Payroll services, Operating Budget services, Corporate reporting. The Manager will also act as a financial consultant to operational units; manage business case analysis, process reviews and conduct internal audits.

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Experience in municipal finance, including budgeting, financial planning, and financial reporting.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in pressure situations to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong public presentation skills.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Experience with pension plans.
  • Flexibility to meet changing priorities and project deadlines.
  • Good decision-making skills.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
  • Payroll Certification (PCP)
  • 5-7 years of leadership experience in a computerized accounting environment.
  • Leadership, coaching and mentorship skills.
  • Public Sector exposure at a senior level.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong people management skills, diplomacy and team orientation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of City Operations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with computerized integrated financial software applications.

Hours of work: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday (35 hours/week) in office.

The current annual salary range for this non-union position is $100,996-$126,229.
