Clerk Dispatcher – Public Works (Temporary, Full-Time)

The City of North Bay invites applications for the position of Evening Clerk Dispatcher.  Reporting to the Public Works Administrative Supervisor, this position dispatches Public Works crews, reschedules Transit assignments, answers and responds to all telephone calls and performs various clerical duties.

 Selection Criteria:

  • Grade 12 education or acceptable combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Three (3) years related experience.
  • Clear and pleasant telephone manner, ability to handle multiple calls.
  • Good level of general office skills including keyboarding skills (40 w.p.m.).
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision, occasionally in stressful environment.
  • Experience in the use of computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Applicants may be subject to assessments.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

40 hours per week

$29.71 per hour plus applicable shift premiums
