SUPERVISOR, FLEET (PERMANENT FULL-TIME)

The Corporation of the City of North Bay is seeking an experienced and dynamic Supervisor to support the Infrastructure and Operations Fleet Division. Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Supervisor plans, organizes, directs and leads staff in the daily operations of a fleet mechanical repair facility and areas where work is completed on vehicles and equipment. The position deals with all City departments with vehicle repairs for fleet and provides guidance and support for specifications on new vehicles. The Supervisor oversees all outsourced work and contractors performing work in the mechanical garage and ensures value for dollars and quality of repair for all work and all quotes, proposals and tenders for vehicles.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Secondary School diploma and College Trades certificate.
  • Formal vocational or technical training; valid Class 310T Truck and Coach Technician license
  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and administer and follow OHSA regulations
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Applicants must possess a valid G Ontario Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving abstract
  • Supervisory experience and skills, including knowledge of collective agreement administration and interpretation, labour relations principles and practices, and relevant employment legislation
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills

The following will be considered as assets:

  • Valid Class 310S Automotive Service Technician license
  • AZ license
  • Additional trades certificate and related experience
  • Industrial/automotive Mechanic specializing
  • Pneumatic P.L.C. Programming and Hydraulics

Hours of work: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday (40 hours/week)

The annual salary range for this position is $72,652 – $90,806. We offer an employer paid comprehensive benefit package including Health and Dental Benefits, Life, Long-Term Disability, and AD&D Insurance, as well as an Employee Assistance Program. The City of North Bay is an Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) Employer.
