The Property Standards Officer contributes to the success of the Corporation of the City of North Bay by educating the public regarding the Property Standards By-Law as well as investigating and resolving complaints with respect to municipal by-laws and other legislation enforced by the municipality. The Property Standards Officer also implements the City’s Vacant Building By-law and Short-Term Rental license processing and enforcement.
This position is also responsible for regularly reviewing and evaluating the By-law for continued effectiveness as well as the development of new by-laws to address areas of concern within the City. Promoting education, awareness and incentives for compliance are key components to this position. Annual reporting on activity levels and recommendations is required.

Hours of work: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday (35 hours/week). Periodically, there may be a requirement to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
Environment: Non-Union
The 2025 annual salary range for this non-union position is $76,285 - $95,346. We offer an employer paid comprehensive benefit package including Health and Dental Benefits, and Life, Long-Term Disability, and AD&D Insurance, as well as an Employee Assistance Program.
