North Bay, ON – June 23, 2026 –The City of North Bay invites residents and visitors to celebrate Canada Day at the North Bay Waterfront on Wednesday, July 1, with a full day of free live entertainment, community activities and family fun, capped off by a fireworks finale at dusk (weather permitting).
The day begins with the return of the Canada Day 5K Road Race and Canada Day Regatta. Registration for both events will take place on site the morning of July 1. For more information about the road race, contact Cosmo at 705-493-0080. For regatta details, email chrisfulton063@gmail.com.
Opening Ceremonies begin at noon at the Kiwanis Bandshell. Residents can also enjoy free admission at the Dionne Quints Home and the North Bay Museum throughout the day. The North Bay Farmers’ Market will also be on site beside the museum from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Activities across the waterfront will include the Canada Day Kids Zone, interactive reptile and magic shows, and live music throughout the afternoon and evening. Performances at the Kiwanis Bandshell begin at 12:15 p.m. with Lynn Blunt, followed by Eric Foisy Band, Hurricane, Blue Sky and Big Fish. Jesse Thomas Band will close out the evening with a performance beginning at 8:30 p.m.
The Chief Commanda II Fireworks Cruise will depart at 8:30 p.m. For ticket information, call 705-494-8167.
The celebration will conclude with a fireworks finale over Lake Nipissing at dusk, presented by Pearson’s Tree Service. Please note that road closures will be in effect at the waterfront in advance of the fireworks. Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time when travelling to and from the event.
