City Enhances Outdoor Courts for Basketball and Pickleball

North Bay, ON – May 25, 2026 – The City of North Bay is enhancing outdoor recreation spaces across the community with new court markings and pickleball amenities ahead of the summer season.

The following locations now feature basketball and/or pickleball courts:

• Circle Lake Park – two pickleball courts (with nets) and mini basketball court
• West Ferris Lions Park – two pickleball courts (with nets) and mini basketball court
• Graniteville Park – two pickleball courts (with nets) and mini basketball court
• Bourke Playground – full basketball court
• Greenhill Park – half basketball court
• Kinette Playground – half basketball court

These improvements align with the City’s Parks Master Plan, which identifies a need to increase access to court-based recreation across North Bay.

“These upgrades are a great example of how we can make better use of existing community spaces to support active living for all ages,” said Councillor Justine Mallah, Chair of the Community Services Committee. “We’re giving residents more ways to get outside, stay active, and enjoy our parks throughout the summer.”

When temperatures drop, these spaces will once again serve as outdoor rinks.
