North Bay, ON – The City of North Bay is inviting residents to take a closer look at what goes into their household garbage through a new community self-audit program called ‘What’s In Your Waste?’.
Throughout the two-month program, residents will complete two at-home waste audits, receive practical waste diversion tips and resources, and help the City better understand where future education and outreach can have the greatest impact.
"There are no right or wrong results," said Victoria Thomas, Environmental Control Officer with the City of North Bay. "Even households that regularly recycle and compost may be surprised by what still ends up in the garbage. We hope participants discover something new about their own waste habits while helping us improve future waste diversion efforts."
Participants can also earn ballots toward a draw to win a FoodCycler Eco 5 by completing different stages of the program, including the entrance survey, waste audits, exit survey and optional photo submissions.
Residents can learn more about the program and register by visiting northbay.ca/waste-self-audit.
