North Bay, ON – June 2, 2026 – The City of North Bay invites residents and businesses to attend a public information session on the upcoming reconstruction of Trout Lake Road and the Laurentian Avenue intersection.
The project includes the reconstruction of Trout Lake Road from Highway 11/17 to Kingsway Avenue, the addition of a multi-use path, and the conversion of the Laurentian Avenue intersection to a roundabout. The project was identified through the City’s Road Safety Strategy as a priority for improvements to traffic operations and pedestrian, cyclist, and driver safety.
The session will provide project updates, construction timelines, anticipated traffic impacts, and roundabout education for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.
The session will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the lobby of City Hall at 200 McIntyre Street East.
The project is supported by funding from the provincial and federal governments through the Connecting Links Program and the Canada Community-Building Fund. Construction is expected to begin in mid-June and be completed this construction season. Traffic delays are expected, as Trout Lake Road will be reduced to a single lane in each direction. Temporary side-street closures may be permitted, provided alternate access is maintained.
