North Bay, ON – The City of North Bay is advising residents that sidewalk replacement work will take place on the east side of Algonquin Avenue between Worthington Street and McIntyre Street West beginning Monday, July 20. The work is expected to take up to eight days, weather permitting, with asphalt patching to follow.
Algonquin Avenue will be closed to through traffic in the work zone daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The road will reopen each day for the afternoon commute.
Pedestrians are asked to use the sidewalk on the west side of Algonquin Avenue during construction. Motorists should follow the signed detour via Cassells Street and Worthington Street or McIntyre Street West to Plouffe Street.
Access to businesses within the construction area will be maintained throughout the project. On-street parking between 344 and 384 Algonquin Avenue will be temporarily unavailable while work is underway.
The City thanks residents, businesses and motorists for their patience and cooperation as these improvements are completed.
