Councillor Gardiner current sits as a Council appointed member on the following Agencies, Boards and Committees:

Gary Gardiner was involved in the sport of wrestling starting in high school and it provided me a sense of belonging and almost certainly kept me out of trouble. Gary attended Simon Fraser University on scholarship and was a national team carded athlete and represented Canada at the 1975 World Championships in Minsk, Soviet Union. Gary worked in sport as a coach and administrator, coaching at the 1988 Seoul Olympics and was responsible for our wrestling team’s game plan for the 1992 Barcelona Olympic as National Team Director. Gary then served as Judo Canada’s executive director prior to leaving Ottawa in 1996 to move to North Bay. During his time in Ottawa, Gary sat on the Board of Directors for the Sport Medicine Council of Canada and the Sport Centre Administration Board.
Relocating to North Bay in 1996, Gary became involved in home construction and design running a successful business and retired in 2022.
