North Bay, ON – Feb. 14, 2020 – The City of North Bay is in the process of developing a Parks Master Plan. This project will examine and develop a network of existing and required outdoor Park Spaces. The report will provide a strategic implementation plan with achievable goals guiding the next 20 years of public park network improvements. Completion of the project is expected in October 2020.
Trace Planning and Design is working with the City to develop this visionary master plan. The City of North Bay’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Services staff will work closely with Trace’s team to host stakeholder focus groups and public workshops to gather ideas, experiences, and information related to North Bay’s parks. Please stay tuned to the City’s Facebook page (@cityofnorthbay) and website (https://www.cityofnorthbay.ca/cityhall/department/parks-recreation-and-leisure/) for opportunities to participate at upcoming public sessions.
Also, the public is invited to participate in the Parks Master Plan Community Survey. This survey will gather information related to personal and family use of parks for active and passive recreation purposes. It will be used to develop a clear understanding of how parks are presently used, who is using them, and what activities should be planned when developing a visionary network over the next 20 years. This is an exciting opportunity for residents to provide valuable input into the master planning process at an early stage. Take the survey at http://www.tracestudio.ca/northbay at your earliest convenience.
