“It was very assuring to hear from all of the partners about the work they are doing in the community to support our residents and help see them through this pandemic,” said Mayor Al McDonald. “The health and safety of our residents is our top priority.”
Those in attendance represented the City of North Bay, North Bay Police Service, North Bay Fire and Emergency Services, North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit, North Bay Regional Health Centre, District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board, Community Living North Bay, Children's Aid Society of the District of Nipissing and Parry Sound, Ontario Health, Waters Edge Care Community and North Bay Emergency Medical Services.
The discussion included an update on the recent work by the DNSSAB, the City and Nipissing Mental Health Housing and Support Services to provide shelter and support physical distancing for those who are homeless at Pete Palangio Arena. The group heard from NBRHC about the planning and mobilization that’s been underway in response to COVID-19, as well as the Health Unit about testing and positive cases in the district.
The EOCG is holding regular meetings.
