Families First to Ring in New Year with Fireworks

North Bay, ON – Dec. 17, 2021 – North Bay’s Families First fireworks display will be returning to Thomson Park this New Year’s Eve.

Although indoor activities traditionally held at Memorial Gardens and the YMCA will not be offered this year due to the Coivd-19 pandemic, the fireworks display that’s been planned promises to be bigger and better than ever.

“The Families First Committee is looking forward to ringing in 2022 with an even more spectacular fireworks display than in the past,” said Chair Wendy Prieur. “Of course, we’re disappointed that there won’t be any indoor activities this year, but with increasing concerns related to the Omicron variant, we need to put the health and well-being of the community first.”

Brought to you by Cogeco, the Families First fireworks display starts at 6 p.m. Residents who may choose to gather in one specific place to watch the display are asked to physically distance.

The Families First Committee would also like to thanks its other sponsors, including the Rotary Club of North Bay, the Elks Lodge North Bay #25 and Dr. Jim Vigars.
