Physical Distancing Required while Shore Fishing

North Bay, ON – May 19, 2020 – Shore fishing from City property is permitted, but physical distancing and safety protocols must be maintained at all times.

If you’re fishing from the King’s Landing Wharf, please remember that space is limited and washrooms are not available.

The Waterfront Marina and municipal boat launches are also now open, including those at Champlain Park, Sunset Park and Armstrong Park. Physical distancing and safety protocols must be maintained at all times. The Waterfront Marina boat launch will open Saturday.

  • If another boater is launching a boat when you arrive, please queue in line and remain in your vehicle until they are finished.
  • Do not congregate near the boat launch prior to or after launching your boat.
  • Ensure you are maintaining a distance of two metres apart from others while loading/unloading boats and while on the waterways.
  • Ensure you are practicing safe and responsible boating practices in order to minimize the need for emergency service response.

Marina customers are asked to call the office at (705) 495-3959 to book a dock slip appointment. For additional information regarding marina operations during the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing protocols, please visit https://www.cityofnorthbay.ca/covid-19-information/impacted-services/

City parks and green spaces are open for walking, running or riding their bikes through, but playground equipment and other structures remain closed.
