100th Anniversary

On April 14, 1925, North Bay officially became a city with a population of more than 12,000. A century later, in 2025, we’re proud to celebrate 100 years of growth, connection, and community spirit. North Bay has evolved in many ways since achieving city status, and this milestone offers a meaningful opportunity to reflect on where we’ve come from—and imagine where we could go next. We invite all community members to join us in marking this special occasion with a year full of events, activities, and commemorative projects. Let’s celebrate a century—together.

How to get involved

Community groups can join in participating in North Bay’s 100th Celebration, host an event, let us know of your event, and submit a request for the use of the Centennial logo to promote your event.

Centennial Spotlight

A look at some of the projects and initiatives shining a spotlight on North Bay’s 100th anniversary.

Vis-à-Vis: North Bay in Deed and Tale

This 650-page softcover book explores the city’s history through the voices of those who researched it, lived it, took part in it, or wrote and spoke about it.

Based on over 50 years of interviews with individuals who helped shape North Bay’s story, the 6” x 9” book features transcriptions of 49 interviews with 44 key figures, accompanied by a selection of historical photos in both colour and black and white. Authored by Peter Handley, this marks his fourth non-fiction publication. The book is available at the North Bay Museum and the Callander Bay Heritage Museum.
