NOTICE OF A PUBLIC MEETING REGARDING
AMENDMENT TO GROWTH COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PLAN
TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council of The Corporation of the City of North Bay will hold a Public Meeting under Section 17(15) of the Planning Act by ELECTRONIC PARTICIPATION FORMAT ONLY on Monday, November 23, 2020 @ 5:30 p.m. at City Hall to review and provide context to an amendment to the Growth Community Improvement Plan.
Due to COVID-19 Emergency, City Council passed By-Law 2020-64 that amends the City of North Bay’s Procedural By-Law to permit electronic participation in meetings for Council, Local Boards and Committees. Therefore, there will not be an in-person meeting; this meeting will be conducted in an electronic format only.
PLEASE NOTE that the electronic meeting will allow for public presentation in a webinar format. Any person wishing to present at the public meeting must contact the City Clerk at karen.mcisaac@northbay.ca or 705-474-0400 ext. 2510 to register as a presenter. Any written submissions received in advance of the meeting will be verbally read out during the meeting at the time the application is considered. Registered presenters will be provided with instructions on how to join the meeting in advance.
Information regarding livestreaming of the Public Meeting will be available on the City’s website. Only those individuals who wish to make a presentation need to register with the City Clerk.
Purpose and effect of the proposed amendment to the Growth Community Improvement Plan (By-Law 2019-07) is to add an additional incentive program, the "Landfill Tipping Fee Grant”, within the Housing Target Area. The proposed “Landfill Tipping Fee Grant” would provide a rebate for the required landfill tipping fees needed for the demolition of the primary residential or commercial building within the target area. Currently, landfill tipping fees may be a barrier to development, and could lead to illegal dumping and derelict buildings.
There is no key map attached to the notice given because the Growth Community Improvement Plan applies to the whole of the City.
Additional Information including a copy of the proposed amendment to the Growth Community Improvement Plan is available for inspection at the City of North Bay, 5th Floor, Planning and Building between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday to Friday by making an appointment with planning staff at growthcip@northbay.ca.
If You Wish To Be Notified of the adoption of the amendment to the Growth Community Improvement Plan, you must make a written request to the City Clerk at karen.mcisaac@northbay.ca or a letter to the above address directed to the City Clerk.
