What to Do During a Postal Disruption

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) began strike activity on Nov. 15. We ask that you avoid mailing payments or other time-sensitive documents.

Paying Bills, Fines, and Parking Tickets

You are still responsible for paying bills, fines, and parking tickets on time. Here are alternative ways to make payments:

In-Person Payments

  • Customer Services Centre: First Floor, City Hall, 200 McIntyre St E. Open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
  • Provincial Offences Court: Second Floor, City Hall, for provincial offences fines. Open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

After-Hours and Drop-Off Payments

  • Payments can be dropped off by cheque (please avoid using cash) at:
    • City Hall mail slot to the left of the front doors, 200 McIntyre St E.
    • The Customer Service Centre also provides document pick-up for citizens and community partners.

Water Billing

  • View your current water bill and sign up for e-billing through the City of North Bay’s e-services.
  • Payment is still required by the due dates:
    • November bill is due on November 28.
    • December bill (if affected by the strike) will be due on December 30.
  • Payments can be made at your financial institution, the Customer Service Centre at City Hall (by cheque or Interac), through monthly pre-authorized payments, or via online banking.

Other Correspondence

  • For non-bill correspondence, please drop it off at the relevant municipal customer counter between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
