  • City to mark Truth and Reconciliation Day with flag-raising
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 26, 2022 – In recognition of Truth and Reconciliation Day, the City of North Bay will be raising an Every Child Matters flag at 2 p.m. on Sept. 29 at Leger Square, outside City Hall. The public is invited to attend.
  • City of North Bay Launches New Virtual Bus Stop at Ontario Northland
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 26, 2022 – North Bay Transit has added a new bus stop at the Ontario Northland Bus Terminal on Station Road as part of its dynamic dispatching service.
  • Truth and Reconciliation Day

  • Wet weather closes fields
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 21, 2022 –Due to extremely wet conditions, ball diamonds, soccer fields and football fields have been closed today. All games and practices are cancelled. Powerade Field and Minute Maid Fields at the Omischl Complex will remain open tonight.
  • Splash Pad to close for the season
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 16, 2022 – The Family of Rotary’s Splash Pad will close for the season as of Tuesday, Sept. 20. The washroom facilities at the Splash Pad will also close for the season, along with those located at Amelia Park, Armstrong Park, Birchaven Cove and Portage Park.
  • Shabogesic Beach Dedication
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 16, 2022 – The City of North Bay will hold an official naming ceremony for Shabogesic Beach in recognition of Nipissing First Nation heritage as an important part of North Bay’s history. Mayor Al McDonald and Nipissing First Nation Chief Scott McLeod will deliver remarks during the ceremony and will unveil a monument in honor of Nbisiing Nation Chief Michel Zhaabgiizhik (Shabogesic), for whom the beach has been renamed.  All members of the public are invited to attend. 
  • Road Closure: Lees Road Rehabilitation
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 15, 2022 – Pleased be advised that Lees Road will be closed for four days starting on Monday, Sept. 19 while replacement of a large culvert takes place.
  • Heritage Committee Launches 2022 Photo and Video Contest
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 15, 2022 – Local photographers and videographers are invited to make submissions of their work that best captures elements of North Bay’s heritage for a chance to win cash prizes.
  • Road Closure: Hammond Street/Third Avenue
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 13, 2022 – Please be advised that Hammond Street and Third Avenue between Fisher and Hardy streets will be closed for the day on Sept. 14th for investigation works taking place at the bridge over Chippewa Creek in preparation for its replacement in 2023.
  • Algonquin-Front-Jane Intersection Improvements
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 12, 2022 – Work to improve the intersection of Algonquin Avenue, Front and Jane Streets is scheduled to begin Sept. 13.  
  • Wallace Road - One Lane Open
    Removal of the old sewage pumping station on Wallace Road and street restoration will be taking place over the next several weeks.
  • Lees Road Rehabilitation
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 12, 2022 – The rehabilitation of Lees Road, between Trout Lake Road and Tower Drive, will get underway Sept. 13.
  • Queen Elizabeth Condolence Book
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 9, 2022 – In recognition of Queen Elizabeth’s passing the City of North Bay has placed a book of condolence for members of the community to sign. The book will remain in the main floor lobby of City Hall for the 10 day mourning period.
  • Heritage Committee recognizes Jack Garland Airport and CFB North Bay
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 7, 2022 – A new interpretive Heritage Site Plaque detailing the history of both the North Bay Jack Garland Airport and Canadian Forces Base North Bay was unveiled today.
  • Judge Avenue watermain project enters final phase
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 6, 2022 –  A section of Judge Avenue, between Lee Avenue and Lakeshore Drive, will be closed for approximately two weeks starting Friday, Sept. 9 in preparation for the final phase of an ongoing watermain installation project.
  • Kinsmen Trail Extension
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 1, 2022 – Work to extend the Kinsmen Trail along Airport Road, between the intersection at Algonquin Avenue and the trailhead near the Davedi Club, is set to begin next week.
  • Trout Lake Road Reconstruction
    North Bay, ON – Aug. 30 2022 – The reconstruction of a section of Trout Lake Road between Mountainview Drive and Lees Road is on-track for completion by the end of September.
  • Mulligan Street/Nightingale Drive Pathway Closure
    North Bay, ON – Aug. 29, 2022 – The pathway between Mulligan Street and Nightingale Drive, including access via Coombes Park, will be closed for up to two weeks starting today while repairs are underway. The work includes resurfacing and a culvert replacement.
  • Multi-Use Court Ribbon Official Cutting
    The City of North Bay celebrated its newly constructed multi-use courts today. The celebration included an official ribbon cutting involving Mayor Al McDonald, local federal and provincial dignitaries and members of the North Bay Spartans basketball club.
  • Multi-Use Court Ribbon-Cutting
    Mayor Al McDonald will be joined by a representative for Nipissing­Timiskaming MP Anthony Rota, Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli and members of the North Bay Spartans basketball club for an official ribbon-cutting for North Bay's new multi-use courts.
