In 2026, the City of North Bay launched a new Municipal Dashboard: a public-facing online tool that provides residents with insight into the City’s organizational performance and key community measures.
Developed as part of the City’s ongoing implementation of the KPMG Organizational Review, the Municipal Dashboard highlights important indicators that help monitor progress, measure outcomes, and share information about City programs and services.
This Municipal Dashboard is intended to provide a clear, accessible snapshot of our community and our progress as a municipality. It brings together two types of information - Community Statistics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - to help residents better understand who we are and how we're doing.
Community Statistics provide a snapshot of our community as it is.
This section includes foundational data, such as:
Some of these numbers are fairly static, while others are updated regularly. Together, they provide context to help you understand the scale, makeup, and characteristics of our municipality.
KPIs track progress toward the municipality’s goals.
KPIs include specific targets or benchmarks, allowing residents to see how we are doing in areas like:
Some KPIs are updated more often than others. All KPIs include an indicator of progress toward the goals set by the municipality.
This dashboard was created with support from the City’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) team. GIS brings together mapping and community data to make information more understandable and accessible. Their work helps turn numbers and reports into clear visuals that anyone can explore.
The City continues to advance work related to the KPMG recommendations, including mapping internal processes, identifying efficiencies, setting targeted goals, and establishing meaningful key performance indicators. As this work progresses, additional measures and indicators will be added to the dashboard to reflect ongoing improvements.
