Municipal Elections in Ontario

Municipal elections in Ontario take place every four years. They give residents the chance to choose their local representatives and have a say in decisions that affect their community. These elections are governed by the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.

In a municipal election, voters may elect:

  • Mayor
  • City Councillors
  • School Board Trustees

 

Municipal Elections in North Bay

In North Bay, municipal elections determine who will serve on City Council and represent the community.

Voters elect:

  • One Mayor
  • Ten City Councillors
  • School Board Trustees

The City of North Bay is responsible for running the election. This includes preparing the voters’ list, accepting nominations, providing voting opportunities, and reporting the official results.

The next election is October 26, 2026.
