North Bay Transit adds fixed route to McKeown Corridor

North Bay, ON – Oct. 25, 2022 – North Bay Transit riders travelling in the McKeown Corridor area will have a fixed-route option during most weekday evenings, starting Monday, Oct. 31.

North Bay Transit is expanding the 1C McKeown Corridor route to help meet increasing ridership by added a fixed route that will operate between 7:10 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. Monday to Thursday. This fixed route will run every 30 minutes along McKeown Avenue between the Education Centre on College Drive and the intersection of Algonquin and Shirreff avenues.

The 1C evening service will compliment the existing Dynamic Dispatch service and will be integrated into Dynamic Dispatch app, which will direct riders as to which bus service is the most appropriate for them based their destination. Riders using the expanded 1C service will not be required to book trips using the app, although it may prove useful for those who may be uncertain about which service is best for them.

North Bay Transit will continue to make service level adjustments based on demand as it works toward rebuilding ridership, which remains below pre-pandemic levels.
