Councillor Bain current sits as a Council appointed member on the following Agencies, Boards and Committees:

- Infrastructure and Operations Committee
- Community Services Committee
Mac Bain graduated from West Ferris Secondary School in 1982 and studied Funeral Service Education at Humber College in Toronto. After graduation from Humber in 1985, Mac joined the staff at Martyn Funeral Home, where he had apprenticed the year before. He is a Board Member of Guaranteed Funeral Deposits.
Mac Bain is a sixth-term Councillor, first elected in 2003. Mac also sits as a Board Member of the North Bay Capital Centre and the North Bay Heritage Committee. In addition, he is the Executive Director of the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities.
He enjoys time with his wife, daughters, and six grandchildren. When time permits, Mac likes to golf and vacations away with his wife.
