Main Street Reconstruction

North Bay, ON – Oct. 23, 2023 – The first phase of the Making Over Main Street project is nearing completion with construction activity for this year set to wrap up soon.

Final works at the intersection of Wyld and Main streets are scheduled to take place this week, starting with asphalt milling, final paving, and line painting on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by the installation of traffic lights on Friday.

Wyld Street, between Oak and McIntyre streets, will be closed to vehicular traffic while milling, paving, and line painting is underway, while there may be temporary traffic delays during the installation of traffic lights.

Once this work has been completed, temporary fencing on Block 4 (between Wyld and Ferguson Streets) will be removed, and the area will be fully reopened to both vehicles and pedestrians. The contractor is expected to return in November to install street lighting.

The Making Over Main Street project will resume in the spring beginning with a section of Ferguson Street, from Main Street to Oak Street, following by Blocks 2 and 1, from Ferguson to Cassells streets.
