North Bay, ON – May 7, 2021 – Teranorth Construction & Engineering Limited is set to begin the final phase of the reconstruction of the Highway 11/17 and Seymour Street Intersection, resulting in some traffic disruption over the next several weeks.
Starting Monday, the right-turn ramps at each corner of intersection will be closed for approximately two weeks while Teranorth completes various tasks in preparation for milling and paving. Drivers making right turns will be required to use the right-hand lane, which may result in increased congestion.
Milling and paving of the intersection is tentatively scheduled to start on May 25 during off-peak hours of between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. The work is expected to be completed by July 7, followed by pavement marking.
Travelers should consider adding extra time to their schedule or taking an alternate route while this work is underway.
The City of North Bay, Ontario Ministry of Transportation and the contractor are aware of and appreciate the need to maintain traffic through the Highway 11/17 and Seymour Street corridors, but this necessary work must be completed responsibly and safely at all times.
