Professional Development (PD) Day Camps

Looking for something fun and enriching for your child on PD Days? The City of North Bay offers free PD Day Camps filled with activities that keep kids active, creative, and social.

Each camp day includes a mix of indoor and outdoor games, sports, arts and crafts, and other recreational activities designed for children ages 6–12.

PD Day camps are offered throughout the year on scheduled school PD Days.

What to expect

What to bring

To ensure a safe and enjoyable day, please send your child with:

  • Indoor running shoes
  • A refillable water bottle
  • Comfortable, active clothing
  • Weather-appropriate outdoor gear
  • A peanut-free lunch and snacks

Registration information

Spaces are limited to 30 participants per camp. Once capacity is reached, additional registrations will be placed on a waitlist.

After School Program

The After-School Program offers participants a safe and nurturing environment to learn more about physical activity, nutrition, and healthy living. The City of North Bay’s After School Program will run throughout the school year Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Elmwood Community Hub (140 Elmwood Ave), Our Lady of Fatima and Sunset Park School.

Each location can accommodate a maximum of 30 participants ages 6-12. 

Children can participate in programs such as:

  • Physical activity
  • Healthy eating (a healthy snack is provided)
  • Health & wellness
  • Arts & crafts 

For participants to access activities safely and productively, please send your children with:

  • Appropriate footwear
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Comfortable physical education attire
  • Weather-appropriate outdoor attire

Summer Youth Centre- 2026 Program Registration Opens May 11, 2026

Looking for a flexible, fun, and active way to keep your child engaged this summer? The Summer Youth Program offers a safe and welcoming space where kids can learn, play, and build healthy habits all summer long.

Running from June 29 to August 28, 2026, this program is offered Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with two locations: Caldwell-Ellam Community Centre and the Elmwood Community Hub.

Participants will enjoy a variety of supervised activities that promote physical activity, creativity, and overall well-being in a supportive group environment.

How it works

To help us create a safe and organized environment, advance registration is required for all participants. Registration collects important information such as emergency contacts and medical details.

Once registered, families can take advantage of a flexible, drop-in style program:

  • Simply bring your child on the days that work for you
  • Each location welcomes up to 30 participants per day, ages 6–12
  • Spaces are filled on a first-come, first-served basis

This approach offers families the freedom to build a summer schedule that works for them while ensuring a safe and high-quality experience for all participants.
