Citizen Appointments to the Rural Advisory Committee

The Rural Advisory Committee (the Committee) will act as an advisory/liaison body between the rural community of North Bay and Council. The Committee is responsible for communicating the unique needs and interests of rural residents and ensures their interests and concerns are considered in municipal decision-making on rural issues.  

The City is seeking four representatives who reside in the rural areas of the City of North Bay.   Please see link below for Official Plan Schedule 2 - Rural Area.

Note: Appointments are on a volunteer basis only and no compensation will be paid.   

The Committee shall provide input on matters, including but not limited to:

1. Rural road maintenance and infrastructure.
2. Rural winter operations and service levels.
3. Rural land use planning and zoning.
4. Economic development opportunities in rural areas.
5. Rural environmental and conservation concerns.

Meeting Schedule:  Bi-Annually - Spring and Fall
