North Bay, ON – April 4, 2025 – The expansion of McKeown Avenue to four lanes is set to resume next week. The contractor, Ed Seguin and Sons Trucking & Paving Ltd., will be mobilizing and temporarily closing McNamara Street for sanitary sewer installation.
The closure of McNamara Street is expected to occur mid-week and, once closed, will last for approximately five days. One lane will remain open for local traffic to provide one-way access to Lucky 13. Once this work is complete, McNamara Street will reopen until the next scheduled closure in June, and construction will continue with the remaining project components, including:
All businesses will remain accessible throughout the construction period, with one lane of traffic in each direction maintained. This $9.6 million infrastructure upgrade will expand McKeown Avenue to four lanes—two in each direction—while enhancing pedestrian and cycling infrastructure. The project is scheduled for completion by October 30, 2025. The City appreciates residents’ patience and cooperation as we complete this important infrastructure project.
