Online voting for North Bay’s 2026 Municipal Election opens tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m. Voting will remain open until 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26.
Eligible voters can cast their ballot from anywhere using a computer, tablet or smartphone. Residents who do not have access to a device or the internet, or who need assistance, can visit City Hall to use a City-provided computer with help from election staff.
Voting takes about five minutes and requires a Voting PIN, found in the Voter Information Letter mailed to eligible voters, and the voter’s date of birth.
Computers and election staff will be available in the main floor lobby of City Hall, 200 McIntyre Street East, during the advance voting period:
Thursday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 16, to Friday, Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.
On Election Day, Monday, Oct. 26, voter assistance centres will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens, 100 Chippewa Street West, and WFCU Place, 1099 Lakeshore Drive. Computers and election staff will be available at both locations to help residents cast their ballots.
The City is also working with local institutions to help eligible voters access the online voting system. Designated staff at local long-term care facilities, the North Bay Regional Health Centre and the North Bay Jail will receive training from the Clerk’s Department to assist voters at those locations.
North Bay offered both online and traditional voting in the 2022 Municipal Election. Of the 15,964 votes cast, 11,193, or about 70 per cent, were submitted online. The 2026 election builds on that experience while moving to an entirely electronic voting system.
