Voter Information Letters are in the Mail

North Bay, ON – Sept. 28, 2022 – More than 40,000 voter information letters have been mailed to registered voters in North Bay.

The letters include important information for electors about where and when to vote in the Oct. 24th Municipal Election, as well as a personal identification number (PIN) required to vote online.

The letters were mailed Wednesday and should be received as of Oct. 11th, just ahead of the online and advanced voting periods.

Eligible North Bay electors who are planning to vote online and do not receive a letter in the mail by Oct. 11th, or receive a letter that includes incorrect personal information, should contact the City Clerk's Office at 705-474-0400 to be added to the voters’ list and to receive a PIN.

A voter information letter cannot be used as voter identification at an in-person poll. All that’s required to vote in-person is an acceptable identification showing a name and qualifying North Bay address. It is recommended, however, that those planning to vote in-person and who do not receive a voter information letter, or receive a letter that includes incorrect personal information, also contact the Clerk’s Office to be added to the voters’ list in advance.

During online voting, which runs Oct. 13 to Oct. 24, eligible voters can vote from anywhere using any computer, tablet or smart phone. Computers will also be  available for online voting in the Lobby at City Hall from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Oct.13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21.

Eligible voters can also vote early in-person at one of three advance polls taking place Oct. 12 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. at West Ferris Arena, Oct. 14, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Castle Arms II at 480 Olive Street and Oct. 17 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. at Memorial Gardens.

On Oct. 24, electors can vote in-person between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. at any one of five central Super Poll locations, including the Davedi Club on Airport Road, Memorial Gardens, West Ferris Arena, Canadore College’s Commerce Court campus and Vincent Massey Public School’s Annex on Janey Avenue.

To vote in Municipal Election you must be:

  • a Canadian citizen,
  • at least 18 years old,
  • reside in the local municipality, or the owner or tenant of land in the local municipality, or the spouse of such a person; and
  • not prohibited from voting under any law.
