North Bay, ON – Sept. 29, 2023 - Starting on Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, as part of North Bay's Making Over Main Street project, pedestrian detour fencing in place between Wyld and Ferguson streets will be relocated as Block 4 enters its second phase of construction.
During this phase, the fencing will be moved to the recently paved asphalt road and pedestrians will be directed to the new detour area while the Contractor undertakes the construction of the concrete sidewalk adjacent to the buildings.
Throughout this process, the Contractor's staff will be on-site to direct pedestrians through the Stage 2 fencing and help them reach the businesses on Block 4. Additionally, ramps will be in place to assist pedestrians to cross between the buildings and the boulevard while the concrete sidewalk is being prepared and poured.
Once the concrete sidewalk has cured, pedestrian traffic will be rerouted to this newly placed sidewalk so that the installation of concrete crosswalks, final asphalt paving and road line painting can be completed.
