What's In Your Waste Self Audit

What’s in your waste?

You might be surprised by what’s ending up in your household garbage.

Even when we do our best to recycle, compost and reduce waste, there are often opportunities to divert more. The What's in Your Waste campaign invites North Bay households to take a closer look at what they throw away, learn more about local waste diversion options, and discover simple ways to send less waste to Merrick Landfill.

Over the course of the program, participants will complete two at-home waste audits, receive practical waste diversion tips, and help the City better understand where future education and outreach can have the greatest impact.

This isn't a competition, and there are no "good" or "bad" results. Every household is different. The goal is simply to better understand your own waste habits while helping improve waste diversion efforts across the community.
