Staff will be able to assist potential applicants by discussing how the project might best fit with the parameters of the program.
The Growth Community Improvement Plan (GCIP) is divided in 4 target areas. Each Target Area has specific financial incentives for successful applicants. These financial incentives encourage beautification, job creation, new housing units, and more.

A new financial incentive has been added to the Growth Community Improvement Plan through an recent amendment to the program. Applicants with properties in the 'Housing Target Area' may now be eligible for the 'Additional Housing Unit Grant Program Top-Up Funding', which is being funded through the Federal Government by way of the Housing Accelerator Fund.
This incentive can provide up to 75%, up to a maximum of $25,000 per dwelling unit for properties in the urban area. Please note that properties must be connected to municipal sewer and water services to be eligible.

The Housing Target Area has now been expanded to the city's entire Settlement Area, as identified in Schedule 1 of the city's Official Plan. Property owners in this area may be eligible to receive financial incentives for development or redevelopment projects that increase the number of residential dwelling units on their properties.
