About BayGo

BayGo helps young people stay active, connected, and engaged in their community by removing transportation barriers. It makes it easier to access recreation, jobs, programs, services, and social opportunities across North Bay.

How to Get a BayGo Card

Eligible youth can obtain a BayGo card beginning May 29, 2026 at:

North Bay Transit Office
190 Wyld Street (corner of Oak Street)

To receive a card, participants must:

  • Present a student card or other identification confirming age
  • Have their photo taken at the Transit Terminal

Helping improve the program: At registration, youth will be asked if they want to share a postal code, email address, and/or a parent/guardian email address (if available or if a parent/guardian is present). This is completely optional.

Email addresses will be used to send a short follow-up survey at the end of the summer—one for youth and one for parents/guardians.

You don’t have to share this information to take part in BayGo, and choosing not to provide a parent/guardian email won’t affect your participation in the program. This information simply helps the City understand how BayGo is working and how it’s being used. Anyone who completes the survey will be entered into a prize draw.

Once issued, the BayGo card can be used to access free transit all summer.

Tips for Riding the Bus

  • Plan your trip before you go using Google Maps or the North Bay Transit schedules
  • Be at your stop a few minutes early — buses run on schedule
  • Have your BayGo card ready when boarding
  • Pull the yellow stop cord before your stop so the driver knows where to let you off
  • Stay aware of your surroundings and keep personal items with you at all times
  • Respect other riders by keeping aisles clear and using headphones for music or videos
  • If you are unsure where to get off, ask the driver for help
  • Transit is a safe and easy way to get to parks, beaches, jobs, programs, events, and more across the city

Why BayGo Matters

BayGo supports independence, confidence, and mobility for youth by making it easier to move around the city safely.

  • Access recreation programs, parks, and community activities
  • Reach summer jobs, volunteer opportunities, and training
  • Connect with friends, family, and destinations across the city
  • Visit libraries, beaches, and local amenities independently
  • Become familiar and confident using the local transit system

Participation in the pilot also helps the City better understand youth transit use and inform future planning for youth services and mobility options.
