The Temporary Road Closure Application Form is used for temporary special event road closures as well as temporary construction closures of roads, sidewalks and multi-use pathways. If there is construction work or the use of heavy equipment within the road closure, a Street Work Permit is also required and can be obtained through Public Works.

The last major renovations to Main Street were completed during the 1980s and much of the surface infrastructure has reached the end of its life and requires replacement. This includes interlocking brick roadway and sidewalks, curbs and gutters, retaining walls, stairs, railings, benches, and lighting.
